Springer Commission

As Christmas has now passed, it should be safe to show you a recent commission. Due to time issues with shows, etc., I rarely take on commissions anymore, so this is the only one undertaken this Christmas.

Now that we are coming into the quiet (and broke) months of the year, I will, hopefully, be getting a lot of drawing done. My plan is to add more breeds to the dog collection, and get more wildlife pieces complete...so watch this space...(maybe don't bother watching until after New Year though...)

Very nice Nolon, typical Springer pose, nose to the wind picking up scents.

Happy and successful New Year!

Thanks Grahame & Bev, This was an interesting looking Springer, she has a protruding lower jaw which, of course, needed to be included as it's these things that add to the character of a dog.

Grahame, Springers ears are a bit of a challenge. I've always found less is more with this type of ear - I don't tend to put in too much detail with this type of fur, otherwise you can get lost in the negative drawing.

Beautiful work and dog, Nolan! What size is this portrait?

Debbie, this is a relatively small piece at around 8x11". That is including the background, so there isn't much room for detail in the dog at this size!
